A PEACE OF MY HEART
Why it was created. I went on a healing journey. It started from the process of healing my own creative spirit. I want to take you on my journey by sharing with you some of the processes I discovered and the things I create/d.
MY STORY
At 33, as I faced a potential thyroid cancer diagnosis, and needed to separate from my triplet sisters, my journey of healing and self-discovery began.
As it turned out, a dear friend reemerged into my life as a mentor, even though she had passed away years before. She had always talked about her own healing process through art making. A painting of hers, ended up in my hands. I didn’t know at the time how much I needed it.

“Gratitude”
She painted this directly from her heart (pure spirit). It resonated so much with me because it symbolized what I needed to nurture. Living in the spirit upon which this painting was created, changed me, and has played a huge part of why A PEACE OF MY HEART was created. I want to help nurture that spirit in others, whether it’s through the things I make or through working directly with others. Creativity is a transformative process of self-discovery that can be for anyone.
WHERE MY JOURNEY BEGAN
I took a Kundulini Yoga and Expressive Arts for the 5th Chakra and Thyroid a few months after having gone through thyroid surgery. I cried as I began to paint. I had so much fear around what would come out. Years of suppressed feelings emerged. It was that point I realized I had a lot of healing/creating to do and that was just the beginning of my journey. After that class, I placed Paula's painting in my studio and pulled out my paints. I felt Paula's presence as I painted and out came “Gratitude 2”.
